East Texas A&M University offers a broad selection of educator certification programs approved by the Texas Education Agency. Students may earn their initial teaching certificate as an undergraduate or a graduate. Professional certifications are available through several graduate programs administered by departments within the College of Education and Human Services. A unified system of records for all teacher education candidates is maintained in the Center for Educator Certification and Academic Services (CECAS). The Center processes all applications for certification and is available to answer questions concerning certification requirements and procedures. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. CECAS is located in Young Education North Building, Room 202.
