Our department supports your transition into college with personalized guidance on your academic journey, including study skills workshops and peer mentoring programs. We’re here to guide you from orientation to graduation, helping you build a strong foundation for success.
STS 1300- The Student and The University
Students explore the intersection of learning, cognition, and motivation to develop learning strategies while adjusting to the University environment. The course strengthens students' communication and critical thinking skills by helping them negotiate common challenges of their first year in college. Through attention to the whole person, students grow in personal wellness, financial and information literacy, and career readiness. This course satisfies three hours of the Component Area Option (090) of the Texas Core Curriculum.w11ds
