A&M-Commerce Alum Recognized for Leadership in Local, State Bar Associations

A lion alum was recently spotlighted for her leadership while serving as the head of multiple bar associations in Texas as well as her abilities in the courtroom. Lynne Liberato, a 1976 graduate of East Texas State University (now Texas A&M-University-Commerce) with a master’s degree in Journalism, was featured in an article published by the South Texas College of Law, where she graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1981. Liberato has made waves in the Texas legal system, serving as the first female president of the Houston Bar Association and just the third female president of the Texas Bar Association. Currently working as senior counsel at international corporate law firm Haynes and Boone, Liberato has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court, served on the Texas Legislature’s 2020 Judicial Selection Commission and has also represented clients as large as the National Football League. Liberato received the Distinguished Alumni Award from A&M-Commerce in 2002. Read more about here accomplishments at the South Texas College of Law website.
