The College of Business at Texas A&M University-Commerce hosted a dynamic networking event in partnership with the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce (DJCC) on Monday, April 29, 2024. The event provided a valuable platform for local and international students to engage directly with top employers and gain insights into career opportunities in the competitive job market.
The event, titled “Network with DJCC and Employers – Hiring International and Local Students,” saw an impressive turnout, with over 50 graduate students from the College of Business participating. Representatives from 11 esteemed companies converged at the A&M-Commerce Dallas site, eager to connect with the talented student body and discuss potential employment prospects. These companies included New York Life Insurance, DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit), Baylor, Children’s Health, Suntria Solar, B3Net, Fowling Warehouse DFW, Chick-fil-A, and Comerica Bank.
Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions with recruiters, gain valuable advice on resume building, and learn about the hiring processes of leading organizations in various sectors. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as students actively participated in discussions and made valuable connections with prospective employers.
“This event was incredibly beneficial for me,” exclaimed Mahesh Sontakke, a dedicated graduate student attending the event. “I discovered numerous job opportunities and gleaned valuable tips on how to expertly tailor my resume for the competitive market. Additionally, I had the opportunity to network with industry professionals and gain practical insights into current trends and best practices. It was truly an invaluable and enriching experience that has equipped me with the tools and knowledge to navigate the job market effectively.”
By promoting partnerships between students and employers, the College of Business remains instrumental in equipping students for the professional world and supporting their career growth.
