A&M-Commerce and Terrell Police Department Establish Preferred Pathway for Officers to Earn Their Bachelor’s Degree

Texas A&M-Commerce and the Terrell Police Department have established a preferred educational pathway for the city's police officers to earn a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with an emphasis in law enforcement leadership. The fully online, competency-based program is offered through the College of Innovation and Design.

Through the partnership, eligible officers receive direct admission to the program. Students can transfer up to 84 credit hours of community college, WECM, military or other college credit toward the graduation requirements. Courses are offered in seven-week terms with the ability to leverage prior knowledge to accelerate through coursework, expediting the graduation timeline. Officers also benefit from a dedicated success team that provides advising, mentoring and academic tracking to ensure a smooth educational experience.

With numerous certificate programs and competency-based degrees available, the College of Innovation and Design at A&M-Commerce is committed to collaborating with partners across industries to provide relevant programs that help working professionals elevate their careers and transform their lives.
