COSINE Texas
A STEM Community
COSINE TEXAS is a community that brings together in-service and pre-service high school STEM teachers along with university learning assistants and Noyce scholars. COSINE TEXAS pursues two main goals: providing professional development support and supporting current and future STEM teachers. COSINE TEXAS is part of the STEM Education Alliance.

Get Involved
Attend Our Workshops
Participate in our COSINE TX workshops to produce lesson plans related to the cutting edge of research and technology applicable to physics classrooms.
We hold workshops three times per year. These are the COSINE TX meetings held in October, February and June. The fall and spring workshops are one day (5 hours of CPE each) and coincide with Physics Day! put on by the East Texas A&M Society of Physics Students. The summer workshop is three days (24 CPE hours).

Join a Teacher Advisory Group
Responsibilities include:
- Attend three professional development workshops held annually at A&M–Commerce
- Network with other STEM high school teachers to discuss various aspects of teacher preparation improvement
- Provide feedback to the leadership team
Become a Mentor
Mentor new and future STEM teachers and have a positive influence on the next generation of teachers.
Responsibilities include:
- Take mentor formative assessment
- Video conference meeting once a month with mentees (45 min)
- Attend three professional development workshops held annually at A&M–Commerce
- Mentors will receive professional development trainings
- Assist mentees with implementation of an action research project into a high school classroom
