Jimmy and Sherroll Shirley Makerspace
Tools for the Next Generation of Lion Innovators
Thanks to the generosity of Jimmy Shirley (’67) and Sherroll Shirley, the Makerspace is an open-use and general working area meant for students, alumni, faculty and staff. The Makerspace is a place for creating inspired projects of almost any kind. Funds raised will be used to purchase supplies and update software and equipment.
“The Makerspace is a space for creativity and innovation,” said Dr. Andrea Graham, dean of the College of Science and Engineering. “It’s a place where students, faculty and staff of the university get to explore their ideas, learn to use tools and materials, and develop creative projects.”
Thank you for your support!
The Makerspace lab continues to be a hub activity since its inception in 2019, offering hands-on, experiential learning by providing access to cutting-edge and traditional tools. Your gift today will help us educate the next generation of Lion innovators.
