Celebrating an Extraordinary Life
The Lion community mourns for the loss of Dr. Amir Abbassi. Known as a great educator, mentor and friend, Dr. Abbassi spent a large part of his career in academia, training the next generation to show up with kindness, compassion and empathy for their patients. This spirit of service endowed every facet of his life. Nothing would be more fitting to carry on this legacy of generosity and care than to provide a scholarship every year to a deserving student to help them advance their academic career. Our goal is to raise $30,000 to establish an endowed scholarship that will carry forward in perpetuity the Dr. Amir Abbassi scholarship.

In tribute to a life well-lived, a scholarship is being created in Dr. Abbassi’s honor to help future generations of college students pursuing counseling. It would have warmed his heart to know that his family and friends were using their gifts to help others in his name.
