4th Annual Relationship Roadmap: Stop and Ask Directions

The Counseling Center at Texas A&M University-Commerce is hosting the 4^th annual Relationship Roadmap: Stop and Ask Directions on February 11. Starting at 4 p.m., in the Club, there will be a panel discussion about successful relationships with audience supplied questions followed by the Newlywed style game featuring well-known faculty, staff, and student couples.

“Relationships can be a lot like a road trip. They wind and weave through territory that can be both familiar and not so familiar,” said Greg Fields, ad-interim counselor. “At times, we can't wait for the trip to begin and hope it never ends; while at others, we can't wait to bring the journey to a close. No matter where we find ourselves, there is help along the way. Whether we are beginning, continuing, or ending a relationship, we can stop and ask directions.”

Relationship Roadmap was created in 2012 by the Counseling Center to provide students an avenue to discuss and learn about relationship related topics close to Valentine's Day. Students are encouraged to bring any type of relationship questions to the panel discussion and stick around to support their favorite couples as they compete for the grand prize in the Newlywed style game. Random prize drawings will take place throughout the event for attendees. The event will be hosted by MCs Zach Shirley and Vincent Phillips.

“Knowing the importance of building healthy and functioning interactions with others is the formation of a solid foundation in a relationship,” said Denise Walker, counselor-in-residence.
