Alum Kia Jane Richmond, Ph.D., Authors Book Examining Mental Illness in Young Adult Literature

A&M-Commerce alum Kia Jane Richmond, Ph.D., is the author of a recently-published book, “Mental Illness in Young Adult Literature: Exploring Real Struggles through Fictional Characters.” ABC-CLIO (Libraries Unlimited Press) published the book which examines characters in young adult literature who live with mental illnesses. Richmond received her bachelor's in English from ETSU in 1989 and her master's in English from A&M-Commerce in 1997.
