A&M-Commerce Alum Elected to Colorguard Hall of Fame
An alum of Texas A&M University-Commerce was recently inducted into the North Texas Colorguard Association (NTCA) Hall of Fame as a reflection of his impact as an educator. Stuart Spoon, a 2002 Lion graduate, received the honor during the NTCA Percussion Championships on April 13. Spoon became only the 17th person inducted into the association’s Hall of Fame. He currently serves as the assistant director of bands and director of percussion at Boswell High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Under his direction, the Boswell drumline has been named NTCA Grand Champion multiple times and has been a regular top 10 finisher at the Winter Guard International World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. Spoon earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from A&M-Commerce.
