Creel has demonstrated exceptional leadership since 2016, when he took over as principal at Sachse (TX) High School. Nominated and chosen by his peers, the recognition positions Creel to vie for the title of Texas Principal of the Year.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to be selected as the TASSP Region 10 Principal of the Year,” said Creel in the district's announcement. “This award is not just about me; it's about my staff, students and community that put their heart and soul into making Sachse High School a great place.”

A 1996 graduate of East Texas State University (now A&M-Commerce), Creel went on to earn a master's in educational administration from A&M-Commerce in 2005.
