A&M-Commerce Alum Selected for Prestigious Federal Fellowship Program
A&M-Commerce alum Dr. Deon Johnson is one of the 825 finalists selected from more than 7,000 applicants for inclusion in the 2024 Presidential Management Fellows Program (PMF) cohort.
PMF is the U.S. government's flagship leadership development program, designed to recruit and develop a diverse corps of future government leaders. Once selected, finalists have one year to secure an appointment as a Fellow, which is a two-year, paid fellowship at a federal agency.
Johnson's A&M-Commerce ties run deep. In 2015, he earned his master's in higher education administration from A&M-Commerce and returned to earn a doctorate in higher education in 2022, both from the Department of Higher Education and Learning Technologies. In addition, he is currently pursuing a master's in public health through the Department of Health and Human Performance.
