A&M-Commerce Alumna Wins Advertising Award
COMMERCE, Texas — Texas A&M-Commerce graduate Alicia Pol has been awarded Student Best in Show in the 2008 National ADDY Awards for her advertising campaign.
Pol submitted one of 270 student entries in the national competition. Each competitor had to win at both a local and regional competition to advance to the national contest.
“To be recognized as Student Best in Show is a huge honor,” Pol said. “Not only is the work recognized by professionals nationwide, but it also increased the contacts I have in advertising clubs and organizations,” she said.
Pol, of Houston, graduated from A&M-Commerce in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She currently works for the Richards Group, an advertising agency in Dallas.
“This award demonstrates the strength of our design program,” said Joseph Daun, head of the Department of Art at A&M-Commerce. “This is a great achievement and it reflects the hard work of both Alicia and our Art Department.”
The ADDY Awards Competition is a national awards program. It is the world’s largest and toughest advertising competition, for both professional and student advertising.
