A&M-Commerce at Frisco Holds Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
A&M-Commerce conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, October 22 to celebrate its newly approved off-site campus in Frisco, Texas. The university recently partnered with Collin College to bring four-year degree programs to Collin College's Preston Ridge campus.
Students attending A&M-Commerce at Frisco can earn a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Analytics, a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and a Bachelor of Social Work.
These four-year degrees are some of the first to be offered at the Collin College campus, and according to State Representative Justin Holland, “It shows how innovative we are here in Collin County and what we will do both at the state and local levels to adjust to the needs of our communities.”
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, several university and community leaders emphasized the benefits of the A&M-Commerce–Collin College partnership.
Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney stated that a big reason Frisco continues to grow is because of its talented and well-educated workforce from education partners like A&M-Commerce.
Cheney also stated that Collin College's partnership with A&M-Commerce will continue to attract businesses and future residents to the city. “Part of the reason Frisco was named the number one place to live in the country is because of these higher education opportunities that exist here,” Cheney said.
Collin College District President Neil Matkin added that the partnership will increase education options for the region's high school graduates. He emphasized that the next step is to familiarize high schools throughout the region with the educational opportunities that are available in Frisco.
A&M-Commerce also operates extended campus locations in McKinney, Corsicana, Mesquite and Dallas. A&M-Commerce at Frisco is located at 9700 Wade Boulevard in Frisco, Texas. Learn more at Tamuc.edu/Frisco.
