A&M-Commerce Faculty Receives Grant to Fund Affordable Classroom Materials
Texas A&M University-Commerce Assistant Professor Dr. Jangsup Choi received a $5,000 grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) for the creation of affordable materials to be used in university classrooms, creating less financial burdens for students. Choi has not only begun development on new materials, but has already utilized these materials in his courses, such as “Exploring American Government,” a free online workbook aimed at improving student and faculty experiences with open educational resources designed for undergraduate American government courses. The grant was awarded as part of the THECB's 60x30TX initiative, which is pushing for at least 60 percent of Texans ages 25-34 to have earned a certificate or degree by 2030.
