A&M-Commerce, Frisco ISD Expand Student Teaching Opportunities
A&M-Commerce and Frisco ISD are partnering to provide more student teaching opportunities for the university's undergraduate education students.
Department of Curriculum and Instruction head Laura Isbell, Ph.D., reports that the university is delighted with the partnership and looks forward to additional educational opportunities with Frisco ISD.
Associate professor Kathryn Dixon, Ph.D., is coordinator of the Educator Preparation Program at A&M-Commerce.
“Our partnership with Frisco ISD is off to a great start through exciting and collaborative conversations with campus principals. We look forward to building relationships with classroom teachers as they welcome our teacher candidates in the fall,” Dixon said.
Associate professor Juan Araujo, assistant dean in the College of Education and Human Services, said the partnership will provide career-building experience for the university's aspiring educators.
“Our students will gain valuable experiences with our new clinical teaching partnership with Frisco ISD,” Araujo said. “This is just the start of many great things to come between our teacher preparation program and Frisco ISD.”
TAMUC will begin placing teacher candidates into elementary schools within Frisco ISD this fall.
