A&M-Commerce President To Host Cable TV Show

COMMERCE, Texas — Dr. Dan Jones, president of Texas A&M University-Commerce, will be hosting a television show entitled “The President’s Table” on Commerce cable channel 3 starting Monday and Tuesday evening, Oct. 6-7.

The show will feature Jones interviewing various guests. “We thought about a regular program with Dr. Jones as the guest, but then we thought it would be much more interesting if he was the host, interviewing people of his choosing, from his perspective, about topics of interest to the university community,” said Dr. John Dempsey, associate professor of Mass Media, Communications, and Theatre.

“The guests may be connected to a particular project or event, or they may just simply be someone familiar with whom you’d like to have a pleasant conversation,” Dempsey said.

Senior Katie Harton of Rockwall, a radio/television major, will be co-hosting with President Jones. “Harton is one of our top RTV students. She’s currently doing an internship with the WFAA (Channel 8) sports department. She’s very upbeat and enthusiastic, and involved in campus activities. Dr. Jones very much likes the idea of a student co-host,” Dempsey said.

The President’s Table will air on cable channel three at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday evenings, Oct. 6-7, Oct. 27-28, and Dec. 1-2.
