A&M-Commerce Professor Awarded NSF Grant for COVID-19 Research
Dr. Sarah Rodriguez, associate professor of higher education and learning technologies, has been awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation for her project titled, “RAPID: Graduate Student Experiences During the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
The multi-institution, mixed-method study of graduate student experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic will gauge their perceptions of institutional support and the impact of that support on their educational and career decisions. The study will closely monitor the way race, class, gender and other socio-demographic factors influence the experiences of graduate students in STEM disciplines.
“I'm looking forward to collaborating with my colleagues at Montana State University, Iowa State University and the University of Michigan to enhance our knowledge about supporting STEM graduate students during times of crises,” said Rodriguez.
“It is my hope that our findings can be applied at A&M-Commerce to better support STEM graduate students here and throughout the state of Texas.”
