A&M-Commerce Professor Selected as Researcher of the Year
The Texas Council of Professors of Educational Administration (TCPEA) has selected A&M-Commerce faculty Dr. Kriss Kemp-Graham to receive its 2023 Researcher of the Year award. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of educational research and inquiry.
Kemp-Graham's research focuses on school leader cultural competence, systemic school practices and policies adversely impacting the success of marginalized student populations and non-cognitive factors impacting academic success. She has presented research at local, state, national and international conferences. Her most recent research is on rural school leadership and the status of Black American and Native American school-aged girls in Oklahoma.
A prolific author, editor and researcher, Kemp-Graham has published three books and countless articles, case studies, literature reviews and encyclopedia entries. She recently collaborated with a grant-writing team at A&M-Commerce that earned a $1.23 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
