A&M-Commerce Releases 2024 Football Schedule
COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce football program announced its full 2024 schedule on Friday, which features six games inside Ernest Hawkins Field at Memorial Stadium.
The Lions are slated to play 12 games in the 2024 season, which includes seven Southland Conference games. All 12 games are against Division I FBS or FCS opponents.
Season tickets for the 2024 season go on sale on Monday, February 5. More information on pricing and renewal policy can be found below.
2024 SCHEDULE
The 2024 season begins with a pair of games on the West coast. A&M-Commerce plays at San Diego State on August 31, and faces UC Davis on September 7.
The matchup against the Aggies is a return trip from last season when the two teams met in Commerce to begin the season. UC Davis was a 2023 FCS Playoffs participant.
The first home game of the 2024 season comes on September 14, against Grambling, which is the first time the Lions are playing a team from the Southwest Athletic Conference (SWAC). Kick-off for that game is set for 6 p.m.
The following weekend, the Lions host Sacramento State on September 21, for the annual Family Weekend game, at 6 p.m. The Hornets make the trip to the Lone Star state after winning the match up in Sacramento last season.
A&M-Commerce is on the road for the first two Southland Conference games. The Lions play at defending Southland Champion and FCS Playoffs participant, Nicholls, on September 28, before heading into the bye week.
Following the week off, the Lions play at McNeese on October 12. The last time A&M-Commerce played in Lake Charles, the Lions came away with a 40-15 win. The Lions are 2-0 all-time against the Cowboys since moving up to NCAA Division I.
The Lions welcome Houston Christian on October 19, which is the lone home game in the month of October and serves as A&M-Commerce’s homecoming weekend, with kick-off at 3:30 p.m. The Lions defeated the Huskies, 31-3, in Commerce during the 2022 season, which was also homecoming weekend.
On October 26, the Lions head south to Prairie View A&M. The two teams have met four times prior, but this is the first meeting on the campus of either school.
The Lions begin the home stretch of the season at home on November 2 at 3:30 p.m., against Northwestern State, in the first meeting between the two teams in two years. A&M-Commerce hosts Lamar on November 9 at 1 p.m., before heading on the road for the final road game of the season at Southeastern on November 16, looking to go 2-0 in Hammond in the Division I era.
The 2024 season closes out on November 23 at home against UIW at 1 p.m., which is also Senior Day.
Lion Nation can get its first look at the 2024 Lion Football team on April 6 at the annual Blue and Gold Spring Game. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Game times for the road games will be added as available.
