A&M-Commerce Society of Physics Students Chapter Maintains Top Status
The A&M-Commerce chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) has received the national organization's Outstanding Chapter Award for the second consecutive year. The designation is the organization's highest level of distinction, with less than 15% of chapters receiving the title.
The chapter is advised by Assistant Professor Bahar Modir. Officers for the 2021-2022 academic year include President James Hirons, Vice President Zorayda Martinez, Treasurer Makayla Teer, Secretary Matthew Phillips, and Historian Ryan Rodriguez.
The chapter is also featured in the organization's Winter 2022 edition of the SPS Observer magazine for its outreach efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Operating within the American Institute of Physics, SPS is a professional association for students. Membership is open to anyone interested in physics and related fields.
