Building Global Competence

The QEP team has been building awareness of global competence amongst the university community. Information for building global competence has been shared via email to faculty, staff, university employees, and students on a weekly basis. Recommendations for increasing global competence comes from the Global Competence Aptitude Assessment (GCAA) and is composed of two parts: internal readiness and external readiness.

Internal Readiness includes:

  • Self-Awareness
  • Risk Taking
  • Open-Mindedness
  • Attentiveness to Diversity

External Readiness includes:

  • Historical Perspective
  • Global Awareness
  • Intercultural Capability
  • Collaboration Across Cultures
