Campus Operations Update for 4/4/25
Dear Lion Family,
Due to the predicted adverse weather conditions this afternoon and to help ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff, the East Texas A&M University main campus and Dallas site will move to modified business hours. Only essential staff will start at 1 pm, April 4, 2025.
Academic Expectations:
To minimize disruption of academic activities, all instruction will transition to online for the duration of the adverse weather period. All students are expected to check their email for communication from their professors. All faculty are expected to communicate directly with their students to share information about specific plans for each course and address deadlines for coursework.
Essential Personnel and Departments:
Essential Personnel: As of 1pm today, specific employees are deemed essential. Essential personnel will be identified as such by their supervisors and are expected to be on campus if possible.
Note: At the discretion and written approval of the supervisor, an employee may be designated as essential personnel on an ad hoc basis. Ad hoc essential employees may be asked to work remotely.
Essential Departments: Essential departments include the University Police Department, Food Services, Facilities, IT, Residence Halls, Animal Care, KETR and the Emergency Operations Center.
Waters Library, Morris Recreation Center, and Rayburn Student Center will move to modified hours.
Non-Essential Personnel:
All staff designated as non-essential are expected to leave at 1 pm and will be granted emergency leave. Non-essential personnel are not expected to work remotely unless they are deemed “essential personnel” on an ad hoc basis, as described in the section above.
Off-Site Locations:
Off-site locations (RELLIS, CHEC, Mesquite, and Navarro) will align with decisions made by their host institutions or local school districts regarding early release, cancellations, and closures.
Technical Support:
For help with technical issues accessing myLEO or D2L, please contact the I.T. Help Desk at [email protected] or call 903.468.6000.
Emergency Contacts:
In case of emergency, please refer to the following contacts:
