Career Fair Connects Students to Job Opportunities, “Just in Time”
The Office of Student Career Preparedness at East Texas A&M University hosted its Just In Time All-Majors Career Fair on Wednesday, April 2 at the Rayburn Student Center.
The bi-annual event was created for students and alumni looking for summer jobs or full-time careers after graduation. It gave attendees a chance to meet with employers hiring for jobs and internships, and to explore career paths that match their majors and interests.
More than 60 students and alumni attended, and around 14 companies were on hand—including the Dallas Police Department, USDA Food Safety and Inspection Services, Oncor, and Cal-Maine Foods, Inc.
Arthur Lumzy, executive director of Student Career Preparedness, said the event provided a variety of benefits. Some students explored career options, some practiced their professional communication skills, and others even landed job interviews.
The Office of Student Career Preparedness helps students and alumni become career-ready by offering support and resources, from resumé creation and interview prep to networking events and employer connections.
