CFEI to Celebrate Grand Opening of Gee Library Location
The Center for Faculty Excellence and Innovation (CFEI) will celebrate its grand opening by hosting a week-long series of events from September 21 to September 25.
The CFEI received the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education (POD Network) 2015 Start-Up Grant, which assists new comprehensive faculty centers by supporting and promoting initial faculty and educational development activities at the university. The 2015 POD Network Start-Up Grant will supplement part of the Grand Opening festivities. The CFEI extends an invitation to all faculty members to attend and participate!
CFEI has relocated to the centralized location of Gee Library, suite 173. The new location houses the CFEI conference room, training lab, collaboration rooms, Faculty Fellows and Scholars lab, and a coffee bar that faculty members are encouraged to utilize.
“I am appreciative of the Academic Affairs leadership who were instrumental in securing our new centralized location in the Gee Library. Building on that leadership, it is my intent that the CFEI be a place that faculty want to be—a place where they can informally gather with their peers or meet as a teaching and learning community to engage in collaborative activities,” said Dr. Julie A. McElhany, director of CFEI.
Along with the new location, the CFEI has revamped its mission to include:
- timely and effective support to faculty for innovation in teaching
- opportunities for faculty development and research
- faculty engagement in service which impacts the university mission
