On January 27, 2024, the College of Business at Texas A&M University-Commerce jointly announced a strategic collaborative partnership with Sun & Moon Capital, a distinguished micro-market buyout PE firm.
The newly launched innovative internship program is designed to offer valuable career training tailored to the curriculum tracks in the College of Business. “We are thrilled to partner with A&M-Commerce to create a unique internship program that bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world application,” said Javar Avery, CEO of Sun & Moon Capital. “By providing students with practical experience and exposure to the world of finance, we aim to be a launch pad for international students who are eligible for off-campus employment through Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Additionally, interns will receive mentorship from experienced Sun & Moon Capital professionals. They will learn how to turn datasets into actionable insights for understanding the latest trends and technologies shaping the field of private equity.
“Our partnership with Sun & Moon Capital exemplifies our commitment to providing students with experiential learning opportunities that complement their academic studies. This partnership allows them to discover how their advanced learning can be leveraged for a company with multiple facets to its growth,” said Shernay Wormley, Senior Career Service Coordinator for the College of Business. “We are excited to collaborate with Sun & Moon Capital to create multiple meaningful internships for our students and to continuously develop their leadership career paths.
