College of Business Partners with BLVCK In Tech to Empower Students Through Mock Interviews and Industry Insights

In alignment with East Texas A&M University's mission of transforming lives through accessible, real-world learning, the College of Business partnered with BLVCK In Tech, Texas Young Professionals, and Noelle LeVeaux, Chief Marketing Officer of the North Texas FIFA World Cup 2026 Host Committee, to host a dynamic Mock Interview Session and Fireside Chat on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in Dallas.

The event provided College of Business students, along with members of the BLVCK In Tech network, a hands-on opportunity to strengthen their interview skills and receive personalized career coaching tailored to careers in STEAM industries.

Organized to provide students with meaningful career-readiness experiences, the event featured two rounds of one-on-one mock interviews led by industry professionals, real-time feedback sessions, and a powerful fireside chat with Noelle LeVeaux, moderated by Shernay Wormley Irving, Senior Coordinator of Career Services for the College of Business.

“We were thrilled to launch this mock interview session just in time for graduation for our College of Business junior, senior, and graduate students,” said Wormley Irving. “These students are eager to practice their interview skills and enhance their career readiness. That's why partnering with BLVCK In Tech and Texas Young Professionals was so valuable—it equipped them with STEAM industry skills and helped them prepare with various interview techniques for the positions they are seeking.”

During the fireside chat, students gained insider advice on navigating the job market, building professional confidence, and positioning themselves for success in a competitive, technology-driven economy. Noelle LeVeaux also shared her personal journey, encouraging students to embrace curiosity and lean into opportunities.

“Participating in the mock interviews and receiving feedback made me feel more confident about future interviews,” shared Ana Huerta Angel, a senior majoring in Business Administration. “I gained valuable insights from the interviewers on how to improve and had the opportunity to network and build connections. Additionally, I spoke with our special guest, Noelle LeVeaux, who shared helpful career advice on how to grow in the industry.”

Events like these underscore the College of Business' commitment to providing students with transformative experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Through strategic partnerships and community-driven engagement, East Texas A&M University continues to bridge academic learning with professional development, empowering students to thrive in their chosen careers.
