Counseling Center Hosts Balanced Living Workshop
The Counseling Center has been hosting the Balanced Living Workshop throughout the semester.
The workshop is a drop-in five-week workshop that is designed to teach students skills about mindfulness, self-compassion, emotional regulation, optimal living and interpersonal effectiveness. Participants should gain a better understanding of themselves and develop tools to successfully manage unproductive emotional, behavioral and mental thought patterns.
“This workshop offers students the opportunity to learn healthy thinking skills, gain coping resources and focus for one hour a week on gaining more insight into their internal world,” said Shannon Moseley, staff counselor. “Now who doesn't need some of that? No reservations are needed nor commitment to attend all sessions. Simply drop-in for whatever topic interests you. I think this is a way to practice self-care and loving kindness toward oneself.”
The remaining workshops of the semester will be Wednesdays at 10 a.m. with the exception of May 4, which will be at 2 p.m. All of the workshops will be in the Halladay Counseling Center group room. For questions about the workshop and registration, please call the Counseling Center at 903-886-5145 or visit them in Halladay #204.
