Dan Bandi – Alumni Highlight and Event
Mr. Dan Bandi, CFA, spoke to students of the finance society and others on March 3, 2021 at 6 pm. The topic of his discussion was “Careers in Asset Management: Focusing on the importance of CFA”. The meeting was virtual and hosted by Professor Ramya Aroul, advisor to the finance society. Over thirty students attended the event in addition to Drs. Aroul, Parnes and Nippani. The event, which lasted over an hour, was a grand success. Mr. Bandi spoke and then he and another colleague took questions from the students.
Dan Bandi: “My time at TAMUC had a lasting impact on my life. I entered the MBA program a little lost career-wise and came out focused and confident. I was an Economics undergrad, which I enjoyed but I was having trouble finding career applications using that knowledge. I can remember in my first semester at TAMUC reading the textbook Managing Investment Portfolios, for a class with Dr. Avard. Something just clicked for me. This was the practical application I was looking for. At TAMUC I found small class sizes, I made friends from all over the world and I had professors that cared about me as a person. Every day I use what I learned in all my classes – Econ, Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Management. The knowledge and confidence I gained at TAMUC helped me move ahead in my career. I wouldn't be where I am today without it. I am forever grateful for the professors and the friends that I met in my time there.”
