Dr. LaVelle Hendricks honored at 2020 Diversity Summit
On February 18, Texas A&M University-Commerce hosted the Chancellor's Summit on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Awards Ceremony at the Rayburn Student Center. “The purpose of the summit was to bring faculty and staff from the Texas A&M University System together to discuss diversity, equity, and inclusion happening across all campuses,” said Dr. LaVelle Hendricks, associate professor of counseling at A&M-Commerce. Several faculty members from the system were chosen as honorees by A&M System presidents who best exemplified the work of diversity, equity and inclusion. Hendricks was the only A&M-Commerce faculty chosen for this honor. He joined 11 other system employees on the list of honorees. Dr. Mark Rudin, president and CEO of A&M-Commerce, was the master of ceremony. Dr. James Hallmark, vice-chancellor of academic affairs for the A&M System, was introduced as the guest speaker after dinner.
