Dr. Nancy Albers Named Dean of the College of Business at East Texas A&M University

Dr. Albers is poised to build on the College of Business's tradition of excellence.

After a competitive national search, Dr. Nancy Albers has been named dean of the College of Business at East Texas A&M University.

The College of Business houses the Departments of Accounting and Finance, Management and Economics, and Marketing and Business Analytics. It offers ten undergraduate degrees, 11 graduate degrees and five certificates. Along with field-experienced faculty, the college provides robust student programs and services, including Venture College, an innovative program providing entrepreneurial opportunities.

Albers comes to this role with extensive experience in strategic planning, accreditation, and external relations, evidenced by her success in enrollment growth, program building, and student engagement in her most recent role as dean of the School of Business Administration at the University of South Carolina Aiken. She also served as dean of the College of Business, Education, and Human Development at Louisiana State University Shreveport, where she led the college through growth and outreach initiatives, increasing enrollment by more than 300%.

Dr. Tammi Vacha-Haase, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at East Texas A&M University, said, “Dr. Albers is an innovative leader who develops great relationships with colleagues, students and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Her expertise in enrollment management, experiential learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and industry partnerships, combined with her strong leadership skills, will help ensure the college's continued growth and success.”

Albers earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Marketing from the University of Houston, a Master of Business Administration from Texas State University and a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications from the University of Texas at Austin. She has garnered over 35 grants and awards, written over 30 publications, and given more than 120 presentations. Her comprehensive experience and education position her to lead ETAMU's College of Business effectively.

Albers will assume the role of dean on March 15, 2025.
