East Texas A&M University’s College of Business Hosts Successful Accounting & Finance Career Fair

East Texas A&M University's College of Business hosted a highly successful Accounting & Finance Career Fair on February 12, 2025, at the Rayburn Student Center, where over 120 students had the opportunity to engage with top recruiters from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The event brought together employers eager to connect with the next generation of accounting and finance professionals, reinforcing the university's commitment to providing career-launching opportunities for its students. With representation from four banks, seven public accounting firms, Ewing Automotive Group, and Paris Junior College, the fair allowed students to network with industry leaders, submit resumes, and even participate in on-the-spot mini-interviews.
Employers praised the event's organization and the caliber of students in attendance, with several students securing internship opportunities during the fair. One of the participating employers, Vail & Park, P.C., took to LinkedIn to express their appreciation: “We had an incredible time meeting so many talented and aspiring CPAs at the event. The enthusiasm, professionalism, and potential we saw were truly impressive! A huge thank you to Dr. Robert Rankin for coordinating a welcoming and well-organized career fair. We look forward to staying engaged with the Accounting Department and continuing to build relationships at future events.”
For students, the event was an invaluable opportunity to gain firsthand insight into employer expectations and develop confidence in their job search. Mohit Kumar, an international MBA student, reflected on the experience, saying, “Meeting recruiters face-to-face helped me understand what companies are really looking for in candidates. This experience made me feel more confident about my job search.”
Autumn Ross, CFO of Ewing Automotive Group, also praised the students' professionalism and curiosity, stating, “The engagement and in-depth questions about career opportunities and growth by the students were impressive, while refreshing.”
In addition to connecting students with recruiters, the fair showcased student organizations such as NABA, Beta Alpha Psi, and The Finance Society, encouraging students to expand their professional networks. Representatives from The Graduate School were also onresence and multiple students walking away with job and internship offers, the Accounting & Finance Career Fair further solidified ETAMU's reputation as a leader in business education, equipping students with the tools and connections needed to thrive in their industries.
