ETAMU Alum Featured on PBS News Weekend
PBS News Weekend recently interviewed East Texas A&M alum Kerry Karaffa, Ph.D., about veterinarians' mental health. Karaffa currently works as a mental health and wellness coordinator at the University of Missouri in the College of Veterinary Medicine.
The interview delves into the mental health struggles that veterinarians face in their profession. In the interview, Karaffa shared that “Excessive self-criticism or a deep fear of making mistakes or disappointing others starts to become detrimental to academic performance or mental health and well-being in general.”
Karaffa received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Master of Science in Psychology from East Texas A&M. He also received his Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University.
