Financial Lab Inauguration

Over Homecoming weekend at A&M-Commerce, the College of Business (COB) unveiled its new Finance Lab with a special inauguration ceremony. The Finance Lab is a modern space with a trading room feel for COB students and faculty to use, learn and apply current in-demand finance and analytics tools such as Python, Tableau, and Bloomberg. The lab features a total of 24 seats, 24 computers, 6 TV screens, video capabilities for remote education, a ticker tape, and 12 Bloomberg terminals. This innovative space offers students an invaluable hands-on learning experience and allows them to perform investment and trading room simulations, stock market competitions, and obtain important industry certificates such as those offered by Bloomberg. Generous gifts to help build this new facility were received from Scott and Kathryn Wheeler, J. Russell, and Lee Armstrong, who were honored with plaques inside the lab during the inauguration ceremony in recognition of their transformative gift.
