The Texas A&M University-Commerce College of Business proudly announces its latest initiative to forge transformative partnerships aimed at bridging the gap in applied knowledge for various service industries.
In pursuit of its commitment to providing enriching opportunities for students, the College of Business has joined hands with Goodwill of Northeast Texas, Sherman, Texas, a 501c3 charitable organization, to create valuable internships and career pathways for students ready to experience an enhancement in their personal and professional journeys.
Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas, Inc., a leader in the social services enterprise that includes stores, donation centers, job training, etc., has been a supporter in the community by providing increased quality of life for individuals with disabilities and disadvantages. Their emphasis on the profound impact of meaningful work and building service-based learning environments has been a part of their continued mission for several decades.
This partnership with the A&M-Commerce College of Business is set to contribute significantly to the growth and development of a skilled workforce. The collaboration anticipates the creation of more than 10 internships annually, offering students an invaluable chance to gain hands-on experience in various operational programs of Goodwill Northeast Texas that relate to their business degrees.
Shernay Wormley, Senior Career Services Coordinator of the College of Business, expressed enthusiasm about this new growth strategy between both organizations, stating, “These new internships hold the potential to create several career opportunities each year for college students, showcasing their professional development and readiness for gainful employment.
