Industry Leaders Recruit Top Talent at Texas A&M-Commerce College of Business Career Fair

The Texas A&M University-Commerce College of Business recently hosted a highly successful career fair, further strengthening its partnerships with industry leaders and showcasing the preparedness of its students. The event, held at the Rayburn Student Center on September 12, 2024, brought together 17 prominent employers and 147 eager students, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the College of Business Career Services, the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and the Office of Student Career Preparedness at A&M-Commerce.

Participating companies represented a wide range of industries, including accounting, banking, finance, healthcare, insurance, marketing and sales. Students and alumni registered through Handshake to network with recruiters actively seeking interns and full-time hires. Major employers such as FDIC and State Farm Insurance expressed their satisfaction with the high caliber of students they encountered.

Arthur Lumzy Jr., Director of Student Career Preparedness, emphasized the critical role that events like the career fair play in connecting students with prospective employers. He noted that these events provide students with invaluable opportunities to showcase their skills and expand their professional networks while employers benefit from a talented pool of career-ready candidates.

Scott Wheeler, dean of the College of Business, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the fair's role in preparing students for successful careers across diverse sectors.

“We are incredibly proud of the feedback we have received from industry leaders who consistently note how well-prepared our students are for the workforce,” said Wheeler. “This is a true testament to the strength of our programs, which focus on both academic rigor and practical experience. Events like the career fair are instrumental in bridging the gap between education and career readiness.”

The A&M-Commerce College of Business continues to host career fairs each fall, helping students and alumni connect with leading employers and secure positions in their respective fields.
