Judy Sackfield Named to NCAA Division II Management Council

Judy Sackfield, A&M-Commerce deputy athletics director for student athlete success, has been selected as an NCAA Division II Management Council Member, representing the Lone Star Conference.

“Join me in congratulating Judy on the highest committee honor that can be awarded by the NCAA.  Her selection was a combination of her tireless service, unbridled passion and best-in-class approach to serving our 451 student athletes,” A&M-Commerce Director of Athletics Tim McMurray said.

The Management Council reports directly to the Presidents Council and is charged with recommending administrative policy and regulations that govern the division. The Management Council reviews and acts on recommendations from the Division II committee structure and from Division II representatives to committees with Association-wide functions. The Council is also responsible for appointing Division II representatives to those committees.

Maritza Sliva Jones, managing director of NCAA Division II, said she looks forward to working with Judy.  “We all look forward to her contributions to the Council and Division II,” Jones continued.

“This is such a great opportunity for our institution,” Sackfield said.
