“The university is about to have the largest and most talented cheer squad since the 1990s. The Jungle Jog will help support those numbers by increasing scholarships and ensuring we will have the funds necessary to attend NCA Camp this summer and compete in Daytona at College Cheer Nationals in the spring ,” said A&M-Commerce Cheer Coach Kelsey Cooper. “We are excited for the upcoming year and fostering our relationship with Commerce High School. We would like to thank the community and university for their support and encouragement thus far!”
Prizes will be given for first and second place finishers in various age groups, for Best Dressed Lion Fan, Best Dressed Tiger Fan, Most Spirited Jungle Jogger/Stroller, Best Represented CISD organization and Best Represented Campus Organization. Registration is $20 and includes a t-shirt and a drawstring bag.
“The money will be used to update things that are in major need of being replaced, such as poms and uniforms. A portion of the money will also go toward each girl's balance on their uniform, shoes and clothes,” said Commerce High School Cheer Sponsor Sawyer Colvin. “We have a really talented group of girls who deserve the best possible, especially since we will be competing through UIL next year!”
