Lion Camp: TAMUC Students Make Connections and Memories
More than 200 incoming students and Lion Camp counselors at Texas A&M University-Commerce kicked off their college journey with an unforgettable experience at Lion Camp, hosted at the picturesque Allaso Ranch in Hawkins, Texas. The camp was conducted in two sessions: August 14 to 16 and August 17 to 19.
Designed specifically for first-time A&M-Commerce students, Lion Camp is all about making connections and building memories before the fall semester begins. At camp, new students have the chance to bond with their future classmates, get to know student leaders and meet the A&M-Commerce staff who will help guide them through their college years. Participants dive into the university's rich history and traditions, learn how to get involved on campus, and discover what it truly means to be a Lion.
But it's not all about learning—the camp is packed with fun, from canoeing and zip lining to floating down a lazy river and enjoying a lively luau. Students also join in on some friendly Blue Pride versus Gold Pride rivalry, sparking new friendships along the way.
