Lion Softball Releases 2024 Schedule, Season Tickets Now on Sale
COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce softball team has announced the 2024 schedule, which features 35 home games as well as a game at three-time defending National Champion Oklahoma.
The Lions enter their second season in NCAA Division I and the Southland Conference, under the direction of second-year coach Brittany Miller. A&M-Commerce plays six games against Power Five conference teams, eight games against teams that played in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, and three against 2023 National Invitational Softball Championship participants.
The 35-home schedule is near triple the amount from last season’s 12-game home schedule. The Lions host two tournaments as well as hosting four Power Five conference teams and six games against NCAA Tournament teams, including two NCAA Regional Finalists in 2023.
TICKETS
Season tickets are now on sale for the 2024 season, with the renewal period lasting through January 16. All 2023 season ticket holders should check their emails for instructions on how to renew their season tickets. General admission season tickets can be purchased now at LionAthletics.com/Tickets.
The season begins with the Lion Classic on February 9-11 at the John Cain Family Softball Complex. A&M-Commerce hosts Stonehill and UMass Lowell twice on each day with the first game of the season coming on February 9 against Stonehill at 1:30 p.m.
The Lions head to Denton on February 16 to face Missouri (11 a.m.) and South Dakota State (1:30 p.m.) as part of the Tracy Beard Classic at North Texas. Missouri made the NCAA Tournament last season and South Dakota State won the Summit League.
A&M-Commerce is back at home on February 17-18, hosting a three-game series against SIU Edwardsville. The doubleheader on February 17 begins at 1 p.m. and the finale comes on February 18 at noon.
The Lions also host the Lion Invitational this season, welcoming four teams to Commerce on February 23-25. The teams competing in the Lion Invitational are Omaha, a 2023 NCAA Tournament participant, Tarleton, a NISC participant, South Dakota, and Abilene Christian.

Abilene Christian remains in Commerce on February 26 for a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
The next four games for the Lions come against Big XII Conference opponents. The Lions host Houston for a three-game series on March 1-3. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on March 1 and noon on both March 2 and March 3. It marks the first time a Power Five conference opponent plays a regular season game at John Cain Family Softball Complex.
The first true road game of the season comes at the newly built Love’s Field in Norman, Oklahoma, against Oklahoma on March 6 at 6 p.m. This is the first time the Lions are playing the defending National Champion in any sport in the Division I era.
Southland Conference plays begins on March 8-9 at A&M-Corpus Christi. The Lions then play a mid-week doubleheader against Sam Houston on March 12 at 3 p.m.
The first conference series at home is on March 15-16 against Southeastern. The two teams play a doubleheader at 5 p.m. on March 15 and a single game at noon on March 16.
The Lions host Arkansas on March 18 at 2 p.m. The Razorbacks were a NCAA Regional finalist in 2023. The homestand continues on March 22-23 against Lamar, with a Friday doubleheader at 5 p.m. and the Saturday finale at noon.
In 2023, the Lions won their first conference series since joining the Southland against UIW. This season, A&M-Commerce plays in San Antonio on March 29-30 with a Friday single game at 4 p.m. and a Saturday doubleheader at noon.
The Lions return home to host UT Arlington on April 1 and head back on the road to face Nicholls on April 5-6.
North Texas makes its first trip to Commerce on April 10 for a doubleheader at 5 p.m. The Lions welcome 2023 Southland Champion and NCAA Regional Finalist, McNeese, on April 12-13.
The Lions’ final road trip begins with a conference series at Northwestern State on April 19-20 and the final scheduled road game comes on April 25 in College Station against Texas A&M at 6 p.m. The Aggies were also a NCAA Regional finalist last season.
The final series in Commerce is on May 3-4 against Houston Christian. The last home game of the season is against the Huskies at noon on May 4.
Southeastern is the host site for this year’s Southland Conference Tournament. The top seven teams in the standings head to Hammond, Louisiana, on May 7-10.
