‘Live! From Lion Country’ Homecoming Week Sees Plenty of Excitement
Texas A&M University-Commerce recently celebrated homecoming week with several days of events. Students, faculty, staff and alumni had plenty to do during the week of activities, which carried the title “Live! From Lion Country” and had a country/western theme. From yearly traditions such as the Hot Dog Spirit Rally and Bonfire to new events such as the Roller Rave, there was something for everyone. Lion Athletics also got in on the action, with softball, volleyball, soccer and football games at home during the week, including a visit from four-time defending National Champion University of Oklahoma at a packed John Cain Family Softball Field. The headline event of the week was a concert from Billboard No. 1 artist Shaboozey.
Taron Green, director of the Office of Student Engagement at A&M-Commerce, said that he viewed this installment of homecoming as a success.
“I saw our campus come to life this year as we went ‘Live!' from Lion Country,” Green said. “What I loved most about this year’s homecoming were the memories students created. Thank you to everyone who made this week a huge success.”
