Management Professor Receives Outstanding Article Honor
The editors of the Journal of Management History have selected an article co-authored by Dr. Stephanie Pane Haden, associate professor of management at A&M-Commerce, as the journal's Outstanding Article of 2013. The article entitled “History-of-management-thought About Social Responsibility” was published in the first issue of the publication's 19th volume. On the ABDC journal ranking list, the Journal of Management History ranks at an A.
“We are very proud of Dr. Pane Haden's accomplishment and continuing record of award-winning research. Having an article selected as the outstanding article in an A journal is a great achievement,” said Dr. John Humphreys, interim department head of marketing and management. “This recognition demonstrates that she is contributing at the highest level of scholarship in the field of management history.”
The article Pane Haden co-authored with Dr. W. Randy Evans of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Dr. Russell W. Clayton of the University of North Carolina at Asheville and Dr. Milorad M. Novicevic of the University of Mississippi examines the development of social responsibility of business concept and related management philosophies through the history-of-management-thought perspective.
“I was extremely happy when our paper was merely published in the Journal of Management History, but to have it selected as the outstanding article for 2013 is truly an honor,” said Pane Haden.
Articles in the Journal of Management History are on the topic of historical development of management concepts and practices and their impact on the present. Business and leadership history, history as science, philosophy and social-anthropological studies of organization are among the journal's concerns.
