‘Meet The Professional’ Featuring PepsiCo/Frito-Lay Communications Manager Amy Wehr
The Marketing and Business Analytics Student Organization (MKTBA) at the A&M-Commerce College of Business recently hosted 2019 Alumni Award Recipient and PepsiCo/Frito-Lay Communications Manager Amy Wehr as the first guest to take part in their ‘Meet the Professional’ series.
Speaking to a group of approximately 30 students in addition to several faculty and staff members, Wehr shared her valuable insights and experience in the marketing industry, the latest marketing trends and techniques, and discussed how PepsiCo/Frito-Lay stays ahead of the competition through its innovative marketing strategies.
Starting with the company at the age of 15, she shared highlights and milestones from her 28-year career span thus far with the company and how A&M-Commerce played a role in transforming her life. Not only does Wehr hold a B.B.A. and an M.B.A. from A&M-Commerce, but her husband, brother-in-law, and her extended sister all have degrees from the university. Not to mention, she is also an advisory board member for the College of Business.
“It is remarkable to network with Amy and learn about the incredible career she has built with PepsiCo/Frito-Lay,” said Tapasya Singh, president of the Marketing and Business Analytics Student Organization. “Her insights into the industry and experiences at one of the world’s leading companies were invaluable and has widened my appreciation and understanding for the fields of communication and marketing.”
She continued: “As a Business Analytics major, it was interesting to learn how my major intertwined with marketing and communications not just for data visualizations but to help marketers make data-driven decisions.”
The newly launched “Meet the Professionals” series is part of the Marketing and Business Analytics Student Organization’s dedication to providing its members with opportunities to learn about the latest trends and techniques in marketing and business analytics fields from leading professionals in the industry. The student organization regularly hosts events, activities, and workshops to help its members develop their skills and knowledge as well as to provide them with opportunities for mentorship, advice, and potential job opportunities.
