MKTBA Hosts Successful Resume Building Workshop

The College of Business at Texas A&M University-Commerce hosted a dynamic resume building workshop on February 14, 2024, at its Dallas location.

Led by Associate Professor of Business Analytics Dr. Son Bui and organized by the Marketing and Business Analytics (MKTBA) student organization, the event aimed to equip aspiring business professionals with essential skills to excel in their career pursuits.

During the workshop, Bui provided personalized guidance and professional advice tailored to the needs of students. Attendees gained comprehensive knowledge of key resume components, including effective formatting, impactful content creation, and the art of showcasing relevant skills and experiences. Through interactive activities and one-on-one consultations, the students received constructive feedback to refine their resumes and enhance their marketability in today’s competitive job landscape.

The event drew a significant turnout, with 28 students attending in person, and more than 25 students participating virtually. The event was open to all business majors with most attendees pursuing a major in Business Analytics, reflecting the relevance and importance of the workshop content to their career aspirations.

Bui emphasized the significance of a well-crafted resume in making a favorable first impression on potential employers.

“Our goal with this workshop was to empower students with the tools and confidence they need to stand out to potential employers,” Bui said. “A well-crafted resume is often the first impression a candidate makes, and by providing students with the knowledge and resources to develop strong resumes, we are helping to set them on a path toward success.”
