MKTBA TAMUC Kicks Off Fall 2024 Semester with Enthusiastic Welcome Party

As the Fall 2024 semester commenced at Texas A&M University-Commerce, the Marketing and Business Analytics Student Organization (MKTBA) celebrated with a successful Welcome Party on October 3rd at the Dallas location.

The event drew an impressive turnout of more than 45 attendees, including prospective and current MKTBA members, along with esteemed College of Business faculty and staff.

Among the attendees were Scott Wheeler, Interim Dean of the College of Business; Dr. Guclu Atinc, Interim Associate Dean and Professor of Management; Dr. Zaki Malik, Department Head and Professor of Business Analytics; and Dr. Son Bui, Professor of Business Analytics and MKTBA Faculty Advisor.

During the event, MKTBA's leadership team outlined the organization's mission, goals, and exciting plans for the upcoming semester. These plans include a variety of workshops, engaging activities and competitive events designed to enhance the academic and professional development of its members. A lively Q&A session also provided attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with faculty members and advisors, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

MKTBA, one of the largest student organizations within the College of Business, is dedicated to advancing the study of Marketing and Business Analytics. Their comprehensive programs include professional development workshops, hackathons, networking opportunities, business etiquette lunches and community service initiatives.

Princess Odio, MKTBA President and a Graduate Student, expressed her enthusiasm for the organization's growth and welcomed both new and returning members.

“It's a pleasure to see so many faces here today as we embark on another exciting semester,” Odio said. “MKTBA is committed to providing valuable opportunities for networking, learning and personal growth. We're looking forward to seeing our members actively engage in the workshops, activations, and collaborations we have planned.”

As MKTBA looks ahead to a vibrant semester, the organization remains committed to fostering an environment where students can develop both personally and professionally, paving the way for success within the marketing and business analytics fields.
