Newsome named to CSC Academic All-District Team

East Texas A&M University women’s basketball guard Jordyn Newsome was named to the Academic All-District team, as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
Newsome just wrapped up her basketball career following the 2024-25 season. She was a member of the Lion women’s basketball program for two seasons.
While at East Texas A&M, Newsome was a sport and recreation management major, served as the president of the student-athlete advisory committee and was named to the dean’s list.
Newsome averaged 14.3 points and 3.3 rebounds for the Lions last season, being named to the preseason all-Southland Conference team, and was honored as the SLC Newcomer of the Year for the 2023-24 season.
She is one of 10 honorees from the Southland Conference this season and has been selected to the CSC Academic All-District team for the second straight year.
