Outstanding Physics & Astronomy Teaching Assistants and Learning Assistant Awards

The Department of Physics & Astronomy recently recognized Katie Hesterly and James Thomas as Outstanding Teaching Assistants and Lindy Walton as the Outstanding Learning Assistant.

“The students were nominated by department faculty, and selected at a departmental faculty meeting,” Department Head Dr. Matt Wood said. “These students distinguished themselves in their laboratory and classroom sections by always being available for their students and really going the extra mile in terms of preparation and performance.”

Dr. Wood presents each of the students with a certificate of achievement and a gift membership to the American Association of Physics Teachers, the world leader in promoting physics education.
