Retirement Reception Planned for Derryle Peace

Derryle Peace, director of Alumni Engagement, has announced his retirement from Texas A&M University-Commerce effective May 31. A beloved member of the Lion family, Mr. Peace has led the Office of Alumni Engagement for more than 18 years.

Derryle holds a special place in the hearts of many. His genuine interest in people and unique ability to establish friendships with past, present, and future Lions has helped build a large—and growing—body of engaged alumni.

Throughout his directorship, Derryle has led successful engagement efforts and fundraising initiatives, orchestrating numerous alumni events. Among his most outstanding achievements, Derryle oversaw the planning and construction of the Alumni Center in 2008.

Please mark your calendars for Derryle's retirement celebration on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Rayburn Student Center, second-floor conference rooms. Faculty, staff and alumni are encouraged to attend.

Donations may be made to the Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship in Derryle’s name to commemorate his years of university service.
