Royal Roar Hosted at the Hilton Anatole Hotel on October 4
The Royal Roar, hosted by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Foundation and A&M-Commerce President Dan Jones, will be held October 4, 2013 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, 2201 North Stemmons Freeway in Dallas, Texas.
The Royal Roar is an evening dedicated to recognizing and celebrating A&M-Commerce's most generous donors, and celebrating the A&M-Commerce campus and its students. Guests must book a room at the Hilton Anatole by September 11, 2013 in order to receive a special savings rate. To make your reservations, call 1-800-955-4281 and mention the A&M-Commerce Royal Roar.
“The true quality of a university is reflected in the lives of its alumni and the loyalty of its friends,” said President Jones. “At the Royal Roar, we celebrate the generosity of all who have helped build a great university and who will sustain its legacy of excellence for generations to come.”
Guests will attend an opening reception, with hors d'oeuvres and beverages, as well as music from the A&M-Commerce Music Department Jazz Band. Student and faculty “Experience Stations” will be available for guests to see, including an art exhibition, star gazing via remote access to the SARA telescope, and Sim-man, the nursing school's simulation mannequin built with top-of-the-line, advanced technology that is used to train nurses. This is a prime opportunity for alumni and friends to learn more about a variety of innovative programs on campus.
The evening will include a three-course dinner served with wine. The program will feature a guest speaker and induction of the newest honorees into the Presidents' Club Giving Society. This year's speaker is Dr. Brian Cullen, local businessman and accomplished entrepreneur. Students will speak about scholarships they have received, and there will be a GeoBatch presentation to see where A&M-Commerce alumni are located throughout the United States.
Afterward, there will be an after party for the guests, sponsored by Oncor, which will include dancing to the music of Professor D, silent auctions, late-night refreshments and a night drawing.
There will be a chartered bus service available from Commerce, with an early and late departure schedule from Dallas back to Commerce.
Guests can attend the Royal Roar though event sponsorship, table sponsorship and individual ticket purchases. Event sponsorship includes a one-time scholarship in the donor's name, with award criteria determined by the donor. Scholarship award cycle occurs annually in the Spring for the next academic year. This one-time scholarship will apply to the Fall 2014/Spring 2015 academic year. This year, Oncor is the Regal Spirit Sponsor of the Royal Roar.
